Monitoring n8n and Zapier AI workflows
Updated 5 November 2026.
Workflow tools retry and log, but they don't tell you when a scheduled workflow quietly stopped running, or when the AI step "succeeded" with an empty or useless answer.
n8n
- Add an HTTP Request node as the last step of the workflow: method GET (or POST with a short summary as the
body), URL
https://cronpup.com/p/YOUR-UUID. - Put an IF node before it that checks the AI step's output is non-empty; route the empty branch to an HTTP
Request to
https://cronpup.com/p/YOUR-UUID/fail. - In an Error Trigger workflow, request
/failso failed executions alert immediately.
Zapier
- If your plan includes Webhooks by Zapier, add a GET or POST action to
https://cronpup.com/p/YOUR-UUIDas the last step of the Zap. - Use a Filter or Paths step so the ping only happens when the AI step produced a usable result.
Pick the schedule
For a scheduled trigger use a cron monitor with the same schedule and time zone; for event-driven workflows that should run at least every N hours, use a period monitor of N hours. More on the AI agents use-case page. Start free.
